Flatbed/Stakebed

Below are photos of a flatbed that was built to customer specifications. It is an 8 foot flatbed on a F350 Ford Super Duty with Apitong hardwood floor, contoured prepunched window with two work lights facing the rear, tied to the Ford body up-fitters switch in the cab.

This truck is ready for towing with a 30,000 lb. rated* Goose Neck Ball Hitch and a 10,000 lb. rated* factory receiver hitch that we incorporated the LCC dock bumper around. All lights are LED, the stop tail turn lights have back up LED lights incorporated around the stop, tail, turn, brake lights.

* Towing capacity of the part only. The truck it is installed on may have a somewhat lower capacity based on engine, axle ratio and Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) as rated by the truck manufacturer.

The Flatbed truck is the one truck that we do manufacture on site at West Coast Truck Equipment. We feel that we build one of the best flatbeds on the market because we use an I-beam cross member. It is light weight, high tinsel, with an Apitong hardwood floor. Structurally it is one of the best on the market compared to others that use either a Structural Channel or a Formed-C.

Apitong: A wood from the Philippine tree Dipterocarpus grandiflorus; sold as mahogany although it is not a true mahogany.

The main importance for this product is to avoid any warping. Because this decking product is of a solid one piece it is sawn with structural integrity in mind, carefully choosing the best angle to grain pattern for the required strength.
